Naruto Terminology

I know, you find it difficult to understand the terms used on this anime. They are actually Japanese term. They can be translated into English but I think it would be better if we’ll just adopt them because it’s better to hear those words than to translate them into another language which sometimes mean differently.

For example:

Naruto-Kun. Kun is another word which is added to the name Naruto. Which means in English, Brother Naruto.

Tsunade-Sama. Another Japanese term used with the name Tsunade. Sama is a term used to address those who have higher ranks in a community. This can be translated to English as Master Tsunade or Ma’am Tsunade.

Naruto Shippuuden - Tsunade

Just like what I said, I prefer to hear one of the character of the story say, “Naruto-Kun” or “Tsunade-Sama” even if it is already translated to English rather than hearing a character say, “Master Tsunade” or “Ma’am Tsunade”, or “Brother Naruto”. I feel like it’s awkward to hear that.
